Craig Breed, Founder and Manager,
has been an avid cyclist for over 30 years. He has raced (road and track), done numerous single and multi-day touring, been active in club riding, mountain bike riding, and at times has commuted daily. He is passionate about the cycling and has a goal, as one of his aims, of increasing the level of cycling across society. His professional background includes corporate finance and investment banking. He has earned three degrees: a BS in engineering, an MBA, and an MA.
Steve Maybaum, Advisor,
has been an innovator in information systems in capital markets and Wall Street for over 15 years. He is currently the chief architect for Caxton Associates, a top-tier hedge fund, where he is implementing a service oriented architecture (SOA), middleware and re-usable application frameworks. Previously, he developed cutting-edge versions of real-time web technology for internet-enabled financial marketplaces, and has worked at notable firms such as Lazard Freres and Societe Generale. At the latter, he created real-time trading and risk management systems for foreign exchange derivative traders that kept data synchronized 24 hours a day from Tokyo to Paris to New York. He is a JAVA expert and has Bachelors degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University. Mr. Maybaum has been a recreational cyclist all his life and has been mountain biking since the late 1980’s.
William J. Ochowicz, Advisor,
began racing bicycles in 1977 after watching his brother compete in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, Canada. He progressed as a cyclist and competed as a member of the National Team in the 1983 World University Games and qualified for the 1984 Olympic Trials. Today, he continues to be a passionate and enthusiastic cyclist competing at the Masters level. Outside of cycling and family, Bill owns a commercial real estate company specializing in the sale and lease of healthcare facilities. With close to 20 years of health care real estate experience, Bill has planned, designed, negotiated, leased and sold over two million square feet of medical office space for hundreds of physicians and medical groups nationwide. Bill received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1983. He lives with his wife in the Milwaukee area.
Glenn L. Phillips, Advisor,
has had broad managerial experiences in the technology, E-Commerce, financial services, consumer and industrial sectors from start-ups and restructurings to multinational environments. He is a founder and Principal of Renaissance Development Group, LLC which is a real estate developer. He is also a founder of Gramercy Corporate Equity, Inc., a private equity fund, which invests in young companies that have a track record of revenues and earnings with significant growth potential. Mr. Phillips is a co-financial founder of XChange Technologies, LLC, Spongetech, Inc. and 99 Main Internet Services, LLC. Previously, Mr. Phillips was President and COO of Automated Trading Systems, Inc. (ATS), which created a system for on-line trading of complex financial or otherwise fungible products and services for the securities markets and Business to Business E-Commerce marketplaces. ATS’s wholly owned subsidiary, LIMITrader Securities, Inc., was the first broker-dealer approved by the SEC for on-line
trading of fixed income products. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of BICC North America, and before that, Vice President and Controller of Asea Brown Boveri, Inc. both multinational organizations. He also served as Assistant Corporate Controller for Combustion Engineering, Inc. He has held various positions with Richardson-Vicks, Inc. and the General Electric Corporation. Mr. Phillips received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master of Science in Financial Management from Fairfield University. He is also a graduate of General Electric’s Financial Management Program.
Matt Purdue, Advisor,
has been a media executive for the past 10 years, having worked as a professional journalist for more than 20. He specializes in leading start-up and distressed media properties, including web sites, magazines and newspapers, to commercial success. He is currently Executive Editor at Worth, a CurtCo Media Labs property. He has written about cycling and outdoor sports for more than 15 years for magazines such as Outside and Bicycling, and is the author of two adventure travel books. He is also the founder and co-chair of an annual four-day charity bicycle event, the Young Survival Coalition’s York Tour de Pink Presented by Hershey's. He currently rides, races and lives in New York City.
Tom Schuler, Advisor, As a cyclist, Tom Schuler was a member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Team and a charter member of the 7-Eleven cycling team. During his 10-year career as a professional cyclist, Tom Schuler collected more that 100 career victories, including a win in the 1987 CoreStates USPRO Championship. Professionally, Schuler turned to cycling and triathlon team management. As an assistant director for the Motorola Cycling Team, Schuler was part of an international powerhouse. Schuler then began to pursue sponsors for a mountain bike racing team and a road racing team which lead to the development of Team Sports, Inc. Teams currently under management from Team Sports include: The Timex Triathlon Team; The Colavita Sutter Home Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light; The Zoot Sports Triathlon Team; The Advil Chapstick Woman's Cycling Team. Schuler earned BBA from the University of Michigan. He and his wife Betsey Caron reside in Wauwatosa, Wisc. with their three children, Alex, Sami, and Gabi.
