Endorsements for The BikeWithMe
School Classroom Challenge
From parent and school board member.
I love the idea of the bike ride challenge and incorporating the (math) data graphing with it! I hope you get a good rate of participation. ... we actually just purchased some nice bikes this summer for ... they are finally old enough to start riding outside of our tiny neighborhood ....
I really am happy to see that you are trying to encourage kids and families to be more active!
From a teacher
I had a few kids very excited about riding today and they purposely wanted me to see they were there. Also a parent that said they are soooo happy we are doing this. Previously their daughter did not want to ride no matter how much mom asked, then this competition happened and she begged to go, the mom said... THANK YOU!
I wish you could have seen it. Also students from previous years were there and when they heard about the competition their immediate reaction was" no fair".
From a teacher
... the kids are excited. My 5th hour (17 in the class
participating) are really pumped up and the other classes (hour 2 has 6,
hour 3 has 11, and hour 4 has 6) want to recruit riders.
5th hour wants us to do blue house vs red house with teachers included
in their own houses (they want our miles!!!) I said maybe we could do a
spring competition if all goes well this fall. Lots of chatter amongst
the kids (GREAT!!!)
From a teacher
Here, the kids are VERY excited now. We have come up with team names:
- Hour 2: Mustang Road Riders
- Hour 3: Terrifying Telletubbies
- Hour 4: Team Roadkill
- Hour 5: Little Monster All Stars
- Teachers: Spinnin Our Wheels...
Right now we are up to 49 students out of 97 total participating...51% and I am still overhearing students talking about "if my mom lets me..." Very fun on this end...
Oh, Indoor miles on spinning bikes, trainners, and rollers... I thought could count?
